Once again I am blessed this morning by encouraging words God sent to me, this time through a ministry I support. The following quote was in an email I received.
“A good friend of mine Jared Neusch once said to me, ‘He who has the most hope is believing the most truth.’ The word used in the Bible for hope is the Greek word "elpis." It is defined as "a confident expectation based on the solid certainty of God's goodness." (--Phil Drysdale)
At a time of grief like this, the biggest question people ask is why. For some, why is a bitter question. For others, it's simply a mystery. I keep telling people, "Don't you dare blame God!!!" God didn't "take" her! God is good and loving and kind and never more so than right now. Hope truly is "a confident expectation based on the solid certainty of God's goodness." THAT kind of hope, solidly assured and confident in God's goodness is what get us through minute by minute, hour by hour at a time like this.
There are many things we don’t understand in life, but this one thing I know. God is good!
