I'm a teacher. I taught elementary and middle school grades in Christian school. I consider myself retired now, and I enjoy pursuing my hobby as a writer.
The main theme of my writing is about hope and encouragement, particularly surviving grief. In 2014, our daughter and only child died suddenly. I have been writing about my grief journey from the beginning, but, even more to the point, I write about God's goodness and grace. God is not good because He keeps all the bad stuff from happening. He is good because He strengthens us, comforts us, weeps with us, and walks with us, enabling us to overcome, no matter what happens.
In the past, as an army family, we lived and traveled in Europe, Panama, and many states and regions of the US. Army life granted me countless opportunities and experiences, as well as many blessed and enduring friendships.
I grew up in Iowa and Wisconsin. I love the beauty of the Midwest, but today I am happily transplanted in Arizona.
I enjoy nature, camping, bird-watching, geology, and rock-collecting. I love to travel, especially road trips, finding off-the-beaten path sights and adventures.
I love to laugh and enjoy good times with friends, playing games, or simply hearty conversation over a steaming cup of java.
